Registration open for one-time benefit

MCK website

Kahnawa’kehró:non can now register for the one-time $500 inflationary benefit payment, funded by gaming revenues, that was announced by the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake (MCK) earlier this month.

Eligible applicants – persons on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry (KKR) who are at least 18 years old on or before April 30, 2026 – must submit requests to PlanIt Consulting and Communications by March 13, 2026, at 4 p.m. No requests submitted past deadline will be accepted, according to the MCK.

There are several methods, both online and in-person, to submit those requests.

Online, applicants can send an email to PlanIt’s administrative technician Melissa Jean Deer at [email protected] to apply for the benefit.

There is also an online request form available at surveymonkey.com/r/MCKInflationBenefit.

In person, forms will be available at the MCK’s Client-Based Services offices at the Kahnawake Office Complex, the Tewatohnhi’saktha lobby, and some businesses in the community. Kiosks will also be organized until the deadline.

Paper requests can be submitted at PlanIt’s office on Bush Road off of the Old Malone Highway from Mondays to Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The MCK expects to give around $2.8 million via the one-time benefit in May of this year.

In a previous interview with The Eastern Door, MCK chief Paul Rice said annual gaming revenues currently sit at almost $30 million, due to revenue from electronic gaming devices.

The MCK subsequently announced that more permits for electronic gaming devices will be coming.
