Council chief on medical leave
Mohawk Council of Kahnawake (MCK) chief Iohahí:io Delisle is expected to be on medical leave until May 1.
In the meantime, his portfolios are being temporarily reassigned to others on the table, the MCK shared.
Tonya Perron will take over the regulatory boards, commissions, and labour file in his absence. Jeremiah Johnson meanwhile will step up to oversee the social supports and development portfolio. Delisle is the lead on both.
Arnold Boyer will also assume his duties on the external government relations file.
The divvying up of his files comes following a Council meeting held on Monday.
Delisle began his medical leave on March 12. The community was first notified about it in a press release issued on March 20.
