Chateauguay favourite Tahiti gave more than $1,000 to the Kateri Food Basket last weekend - one $2.50 eggroll at a time.
Restaurant owner Gim Ming Wong announced that $1,017.50 was raised for the Food Basket thanks to its latest Egg Roll Fundraiser, where 100 percent of proceeds for purchased egg rolls go to the chosen cause.
Wong highlighted the participation of two specific people: Chris Deer, who contributed $300 by purchasing 120 egg rolls; and a West Island resident, John Tom, who contributed $90 by way of 36 egg rolls.
“I would like to thank Ming for his continued support of the Food Basket. He has been doing these types of things for many years now, and we are very grateful for him and his team,” said Kateri Food Basket coordinator Cory Rice.
