The Church Hall, a decades-old popular community gathering place for Kanehsata’kehró:non to hold events, will undergo changes under new management.

In a statement, the volunteer group said the priority is to revive the hall for the community and to restore its independence.

“The goal is not to commercialize the space but to keep it accessible, welcoming, and financially sustainable,” the volunteers wrote.

The yearly plan for the hall includes four bingo fundraisers and the annual Christmas Bazaar. Kanatakon Kawa:tsire Hall, the new name for the hall, is also open for community rentals.

Renovation plans for the hall include Interior ceiling and wall repairs, improved lighting, widening bathroom doors for wheelchair access, floor repairs, and changes to the front entrance porch.

“These upgrades will be funded through community fundraising and hall rentals,” read the statement from the group.
