Alcohol permits renewed
The Alcoholic Beverages Control Board (ABC) announced this week that all valid permits would be amended, extending their expiration date to March 27, 2027.
The decision was made via board resolution to amend these permits, which extend to restaurants, bars, retail stores, grocery stores, social organizations, and for wholesale and manufacture.
Current ABC Board permits were first renewed in July 2024 by the former board members and further extended twice, the latest of which expired on February 28, 2026.
The decision was made to extend the permits due to the need to update the Kahnawake Communal Law on Alcoholic Beverages as well as the challenges the ABC Board currently faces - time constraints for inspections and missing files and documentation being cited by the board in its press release.
