A perfect prom

Kahnawake’s latest graduates were out in their best gowns and suits last week, marking the final weeks of their high school journey at Kahnawake Survival School’s (KSS) annual prom.

“It was especially heartwarming to be part of this year’s prom, as a staff member - seeing everything firsthand, like the emotions in every graduate’s speech and the proud smiles and happy tears from family and friends,” said Sha’teiohserí:io Patton, KSS’s associate principal. “Every student offers something special at KSS, and we will miss each of them after graduation.”

Students were able to say goodbye to their KSS years in style at Plaza Volare, surrounded by the teaching staff that got them through their formative years.

“For this year’s class, I hope they cherish their memories from our school, but I also hope they live in the moment - don’t dwell on what was or what will be. Live every day with meaning and take good care of your spirit,” Patton said. “Good luck on your paths moving forward! Sewaterahswiióha’k!”
