Three more seasons of the Hills

The residents of Arlen, Texas, will continue to grace screens for at least three more seasons, as it was announced that the King of the Hill reboot has been renewed for production seasons 15, 16, and 17.
The show’s 14th season, the first of the reboot set over a decade after the end of the original run, was made available on Disney+ in Canada on August 4, 2025, with all 10 episodes releasing the same day.
Kahnawake’s own Taietsarón:sere Tai Leclaire played the adult version of Joseph Gribble, Bobby Hill’s best friend, taking over for Breckin Meyer who played teenage Joseph.
Leclaire said he was excited about the show continuing past the first reboot season.
“I’m really happy that it was able to get to where it got to go, and the fact that we’re able to get these new seasons as well, it’s pretty exciting,” said Leclaire.
The 14th season currently boasts a 98 percent critic rating on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes and had the most-viewed adult animation season premiere on Hulu and Disney+ in five years, with 4.4 million viewers.
Leclaire said that he did not exactly know what the reception would be for the show’s new season.
“I was still anxious about how it was going to be received, only because the show kind of has a life of its own. At this point, it has existed for so long, and to come on to something that has already existed was already terrifying,” said Leclaire.
When the viewership numbers and reviews started coming in, he was floored.
“The fact that we are an animated show that has existed for 20 years and is somehow with the Kardashians, it’s a strange thing,” said Leclaire.
He said it showed in a big way just how much viewers appreciate the world and the characters of King of the Hill, with the reboot not straying much from the earlier run of the show in terms of tone.
“I think it’s a testament to authenticity, and I think it retains it that way, and it didn’t forget itself,” said Leclaire.
“I think it’s a really good time for it to come back, to be honest, just with the way politics are right now, with the way life is right now, everything feels so terrifying and large and isolating, and there’s just something very comforting about the show that I think lends well to its success.”
Leclaire’s work as Joseph has also been praised. Leclaire said he has visited the show’s Reddit page frequently before and since becoming the voice for Joseph, and it is there that he has received some of the best compliments for his work.
“The best compliments were that they didn’t realize they recast Joseph, which made me proud as a performer, that they were able to sort of continue on with this character without even thinking that his life or his POV had changed,” said Leclaire.
He said that the creative team behind the new season has a big hand in keeping Joseph, and so many other characters, true to themselves.
“I just think they really were a masterclass in keeping the characters authentic to who they were,” said Leclaire.
He hopes there will be even more of Joseph, and himself, in the series for years to come.
