From elementary school to high school, children have attended after-school programs Onkwanen:ra/Our Gang and Ase: Tahonatehiarontie/MAD Group ensuring that every student had a trustworthy environment to head to after school.

    Local author visits library

    Tyler Curotte It’s been a long time coming for self-published Mohawk author Tara White.  The local author visited the Kahnawake Library this past Sunday, where she read one of her children’s books and did an activity with the children, followed by a reading of an excerpt from her latest novel, Finding Joy, as well as a question-and-answer session where she spoke about her experiences as an Indigenous author.

    Docuseries highlights Indigenous voices

    A 13-episode documentary series, “Warrior Up,” is airing on APTN, with the next episode featuring a familiar face. The program highlights Indigenous youth across North America who inspire and bring about changes and innovations across the world and in their communities, including one of Kahnawake’s own youth, Rotshennón:ni Two-Axe.
