Dexter Stacey had a solid start to his season, taking home a ninth place finish in the Bud Light 250 at Autodrome Chaudière last weekend.

The Bud Light 250, the midway point of the 12-race NASCAR Canada Series season, was Stacey’s first race in the series since last year’s season finale at Autodrome Montmagny for the XPN 250, where he finished 21st.

Stacey drove the #3 Leland Industries/Bully’s Truck Stop/HGC The Harman Group Chevrolet for Ed Hakonson Racing. He qualified 14th of 17 cars with a time around the 0.250 mile oval of 13.690 seconds, 0.013 seconds back of the 13th place qualifier D.J. Kennington and slightly more than 0.3 seconds back of polesitter Donald Theetge.

In a race that saw multiple spins and even Andrew Ranger’s #27 car getting beached on top of a grassy hill on the outside of the track, Stacey stayed out of trouble in the #3 car, running all 250 laps and bringing home a top 10 in his first start.

Stacey will be back behind the wheel this weekend for the Trois-Rivieres Grand-Prix, the marquee event on the NASCAR Canada Series calendar, for the 60 Tours Rousseau Metal. This time, he’ll be in the #92 car for the race in the streets of Trois-Rivières, as the #3 continues its season-long rotation of drivers.

The race will be live starting at 1 p.m. on TVA Sports and REV.
