Minor hockey board elections ongoing

The nominations for the Kahnawake Minor Hockey Association (KMHA)’s board elections have been posted, with two positions to be voted on.

Those positions are both for vice-president, which will be held by two people. Presenting themselves for vice-president of the KMHA are Jo-Anna Jacobs, Kale Kane, and Emily Stacey. Kane and Stacey are running for re-election.

The position of president was won by Brianne Alfred by acclamation. This will be her second consecutive term as KMHA president, having first been elected in the summer of 2024.

The position of treasurer was won by Mackenzie Kirby, who was also elected by acclamation.

As there were no nominees for the position of secretary/registrar, it will be appointed by the new board.

The voting period for the KMHA board elections will continue until today (Friday) at noon.  Voting is being held in-person at the Kahnawake Sports Complex, and one must be a KMHA member to vote in the board elections.

Results will be announced on July 20.
