Kahnawa’kehró:non race car driver Derek White will be back behind the wheel this weekend, going down to Florida to race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
He will be competing in the OnlyBulls Green Flag 150, the inaugural NASCAR race to take place on the street course in St. Petersburg, Florida, which has hosted auto racing since the mid-1980s.
White will be racing once again for MBM Motorsports in their #69 truck, the same team he raced for in two of the three races he competed in the Truck Series last year – this time, the team will be sponsored by Florida-based online marketing company Elite Rewards.
While this means he won’t have the Warrior flag on the hood this time around, his truck will still adorn the flag’s colours – black, red, and yellow – as well as stickers for local businesses OCR Gaz Bar and Mohawk Market.
White raced on one road course last season, finishing 19th in the Mission 176 at The Glen in Watkins Glen, New York.
The OnlyBulls Green Flag 150 will serve as a companion race to the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the season opener for the Indycar series.
The Craftsman Truck Series race will be broadcast live this Saturday at noon on TSN in Canada and on FOX in the United States.
