Shooting and arrest in Kanesatake
Gun shots were reported at a Kanesatake home, and two suspects were arrested by the Surete du Quebec (SQ) on April 1.
Just before 11 a.m., SQ officers were notified of gun shots at the home of Normand Theoret. Last year, Theoret’s cannabis store Sweet Grass was burned down in August. Later that year, in December, Theoret was shot in his home. He was soon reported to be in stable condition, but later that same month, a fire was reported to have been set to his home.
Police said no one was shot.
The two suspects, aged 26 and 27, involved in the shooting this week continued driving before running off the road in the Saint-Joseph-du-Lac area, according to SQ spokesperson Marc Tessier.
They were arrested after they contacted the Two Mountains police to file a hit-and-run complaint and request a tow, said Tessier.
An investigation is ongoing.
