Celebrating a great season

The U11B Mohawks hockey during a parade to celebrate the great season

Olivier Cadotte The Eastern Door

The U11B Mohawks hockey team basked in their success one more time on Tuesday, with a parade held in their honour that went from the railway tunnel to the Kahnawake Sports Complex.

“It’s something they asked for, something they definitely worked for and deserve,” said Kyle Zacharie, assistant coach and manager of the team, who added that the team was inspired by the U15B Mohawks holding their own parade a few weeks ago.

Despite a gloomy – and sometimes rainy – start, all the players from the team were there to show their pride in their Eastern Hockey League championship as well as their NDG Tournament win, with both banners being brought along with them before they will be hung up in the Sports Complex.

Proud parents followed the trailer with the team, with multiple passing cars honking to show their support and others coming out to wave to the passing players.
