After years of development, Saturday saw the new outdoor rink next to the Kahnawake Sports Complex have its first lacrosse action with two Kahnawake Mohawks Minor Lacrosse Association (KMMLA) all-star games that followed the official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting.

The boys’ hockey portion of the Chevrolet Cup in Chateauguay ended without any Kahnawa’kehró:non players making it to the medal rounds, but it was still a good experience for those who took part in the provincial tournament.

Kahnawake was all over the ice throughout the two weeks of the Chevrolet Cup hockey tournament - and not just on the two teams facing off at a time.
