As the vaccine eligibility scope widens throughout the province, tangible measures to provide access to Indigenous people living in the greater Montreal area are gaining traction, as the city opens three COVID-19 vaccination sites specifically adapted for the population.

According to Mohawk Council of Kahnawake (MCK) chief Tonya Perron, the Cannabis Control Law draft regulations are now 95 percent complete, bringing the community closer to finally entering the cannabis industry.

Starting this week and lasting through the fall, Kahnawake Environment Protection Office (KEPO) staff will be heading out to the Big Fence area to conduct an ecological study.
