Exhibition mission

The Ratihén:te volleyball team has vowed to be tournament-ready by November, but the squad hasn’t had to wait that long to ply their hard-earned skills, with coach Jeffrey Nelson putting together exhibition games to test their mettle.

Their first game, an exhibition game against Lake of Two Mountains High School, was a smashing success, with the Kanesatake girls taking four of five matches.

“It went great,” said Nelson. “They are a young team like us, and also learning a new system. It was great for the girls to implement what they are learning before our first tournament.”

Upwards of 50 community members came out to Ratihén:te High School to watch the volleyball action.

The team will play another exhibition game at home next Friday against Liberté-Jeunesse High School, with the season’s first Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec tournament unfolding November 9-10.
