Champs looking for new laxers

Are you the community’s next lacrosse star?  That’s what the Kahnawake Hunters will be trying to find out starting this weekend as the Founder’s Cup champions hold tryouts for both the Junior B and Junior C levels.

The tryouts are open to any player from Kahnawake who has either already played for the Hunters in previous seasons and is under 22 years old, or to players who played with the U17 minor lacrosse team.

Players from other associations must first have written permission from their association before participating in the tryouts, and all players must be registered through the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s online registration portal - the link for which can be found on the Hunters’ Facebook page.

Tryouts will be happening over the course of several weeks, with seven two-hour sessions being held at the Sportsplex Beau-Chateau in Chateauguay.

The first will be this Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
